YOUNG BLOOD: Home
CREATORS: 13-17 Year Olds
PROMOTERS: 16-24 Year Olds
LIVE: 12-17 Year Olds
Young people have an important role to play in the creative and cultural development of music. Their evolving tastes contribute to the constant evolution of the music industry pushing artists and labels to explore new sounds and styles.
The Forum Music Studios has designed this ground-breaking three-part, interconnected programme specifically to ensure our young people have access and opportunities to engage and invest in the development of the live music sector
Whether it be creating new music, developing enterprising skills in the music industry, or just simply enjoying live music from up-and-coming bands with friends, Young Blood aims to create a safe and social space for our youth to experience the power and positivity of music.
Arts Council England has recognised the need and quality of the Young Blood project and has recently awarded funding to support the success of this project
Young Blood Music Creators is a weekly session held for 13-17 year olds. The young creators will develop their music skills in a relaxed and creative environment, with access to high quality resources and professional support.
Throughout the project students will develop Digital Music, Stage and Performance skills and use of the state of the art recording studio to record their music. Students will also have access to fully equipped rehearsal spaces and opportunities to perform on the main stage.
The project will be supported by a team of professional musicians as well as guest speakers and mentors from the industry on a semi regular basis.
Please Note: Applications for Young Blood Creators are now closed, more places may open in the future
The Young blood promoters programme is designed to empower and support young promoters within the music industry. It serves as a creative hub for young promoters who are passionate about learning to organise live events. With guidance from mentors and guest speakers including industry professionals, YBP will have access to a regular space to research and develop as well as a budget to work with.
The structure of the programme begins with a research period beginning January 2024 with sessions targeting specific themes such as promotion, contracts, agents and communication, all aspects of putting on your own gig. Some of these sessions will be led by industry professionals such as promoters, agents and bands who will give guidance and advice. After the research period, students will go onto contacting agents and bands, negotiating fees (budget supplied) to begin creating a programme of events for the monthly Young Blood Live gigs for ages 13-17. Each young promoter will be assigned to lead on 2 events each over the project period.
Please Note: Applications will be vetted for suitability to the program and not all applicants will be successful.
YBL is a monthly gig night created by young people for young people.
The gigs will be planned by the Young Blood Music Promoters, in a safe environment that encourages young people to attend gigs and further engage in creative events.
There are no upcoming events at this time
