Live and Local is a monthly gig night showcasing and celebrating North East artists and bands.
Risco: Risco is a 3-piece rock band from Stockton-On-Tees. From humble beginnings of writing tunes and giving away demo CDs during lockdown to playing those same tunes to sold out crowds, they certainly have made a name for themselves around the North by developing a raw, heavy, melodic sound inspired by mod culture They were met with early success at their highly anticipated debut gig at Stockton Calling’s NE Volume stage, packing out the whole venue. Since then they have been playing shows around the country and going viral on TikTok, amassing millions of views on their videos. The band are most known for their high-powered live performances, having played amongst the likes of ‘Reverend and The Makers’, ‘Red Rum Club’ and ‘The Zutons’ amongst other established acts.
Haddonwood: Haddonwood are a horror punk band from Darlington formed in 2023. They have quickly built a reputation for playing catchy, upbeat punk rock about different horror elements including slasher movies and vampires, and their energetic performances, playing with a variety of bands including horror punk giants, the Koffin Kats. Haddonwood are playing their first hometown gig and the 27th February will mark the release of their debut single: Rum and Blood; a catchy singalong punk rock anthem, along with B-side, Christine, paying homage to the book and film of the same name. For fans of the Offspring, Sum 41, the Misfits and the Creepshow.
