DESCRIPTION:Wellbeing for the mind through music\nwith Hayley McKay\n\nJoin us for our free monthly sessions. Open to people of all ages and musical abilities\, Music Mind is a new incentive which sets out to improve mental health and wellbeing through singing\, song-writing and music production. \nThe sessions were created by Hayley McKay\, a leading vocal coach\, music tutor and professional singer-songwriter. She has worked extensively in supporting people throughout the UK and in local communities. \nShe said: “It’s quite incredible how engaging in music making can really lift your spirits. I have worked with\npeople of all ages and abilities\, and I have witnessed first-hand how much joy and the positive benefits it\nbrings to all.” \nThe monthly\, informal sessions are free to attend\, and aim to be informal\, relaxing\, fun and\ninteractive\, with the opportunity to make new friends\, write songs and find your inner voice with talents you never knew you had. \n\nSocialise and make new friends\nGroup singing opportunities\nMusical instruments\nSupport for Song writing\nMusical Recording opportunities\nPerformance opportunities for family and friends\n\n\nHayley McKay is an international award-winning singer-songwriter with appearances on national TV and radio.\nShe has supported artists including Tom Jones\, Scouting for Girls and Martha Reeves\, and has performed at many festivals and venues. \nEmail: hayleymckaymusic@gmail.com \n  \n\nWellbeing For The Mind Through Music has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund

DESCRIPTION:Presenting a three-hour hands-on lyric writing workshop led by songwriter and lyricist Jodie Nicholson. \nDrawing on her experience as both a songwriter and performer\, as well as writing for other musicians and producers\, Jodie will share practical tools and techniques to help you develop ideas\, strengthen your lyrics and find your own voice as a writer. \nThis is a workshop built around writing and experimentation\, so expect to get involved rather than simply sit and listen. \nThe session will cover: \n\nDeveloping initial ideas into lyrics\nFinding and refining your lyrical voice\nWriting lyrics that connect with an audience\nWorking with melody\, rhythm and structure\nWriting collaboratively and for other artists\nTurning early ideas into developed lyrical concepts\n\nYou’ll have the opportunity to put the techniques into practice throughout the session\, developing your own ideas and experimenting with different approaches to lyric writing. \nThis workshop is for emerging and developing artists\, songwriters\, musicians and producers across the Tees Valley. \nWhether you’re looking to improve your lyrics\, find new ways into a song or become more confident writing with others\, you’ll leave with practical techniques you can take straight back into your own creative practice. \nNo formal songwriting experience is required\, just bring your ideas and be ready to write. \n Register
